Montblanc Kicks Off Annual Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award in Spain

Madrid, May 24th – Philantropist Soledad Lorenzo received Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award at the magnificent Liria Palace, in the heart of Madrid.

Every year since 1992, the prestigious Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award has recognized the outstanding achievements and important contributions of modern day patrons. Now in its 26th edition, the Awards will be hosted in 17 cities around the world across the year, starting with the Spain ceremony in the stunning Liria Palace. Each winner is selected by an international jury of art influencers, a network of most knowledgeable and forward-thinking individuals brought together by the Montblanc Cultural Foundation to evaluate the candidates based on their history of personal commitment to the arts, and a concern that the wider public should benefit from cultural projects.

Spanish philanthropist Soledad Lorenzo received the award in recognition of her extensive patronage of contemporary arts including the donation of 400 works from her private collection to the National Museum Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. Known as one of the most important gallerists in Spain, Soledad Lorenzo has spent her career continuously exhibited the works of great artists who are part of the history of art. Following her belief that art belongs to the public, Lorenzo donated an extensive collection of works for the public to enjoy.
